Club Car Gears Up for The Ryder Cup at Year to Go Celebration

Club Car is gearing up for the 2014 Ryder Cup and played its part in the Year to Go Celebrations at Gleneagles, Scotland.

Two Captains’ Cars in team colours were on display for the special two-day event that started the countdown to the 40th Ryder Cup.

And while the Captains gave their first joint press conference inside the Gleneagles Hotel, guests were able to get up close and personal with the iconic vehicles in their famous blue and red liveries

“Everybody loves to see the Captains’ cars and there was a steady stream of people having their pictures taken with the vehicles over both days,” said Club Car’s Kevin Hart, Sales Director Golf for the EMEIA regions.

“The way the cars were parked up at Gleneagles was a tangible symbol of what we’ll see in a year’s time – two outstanding teams competing nose-to-nose in a great sporting contest for an historic trophy.”

Club Car’s association with The Ryder Cup began in 1999, since when it has provided not only the two Captains’ cars, but more than 300 passenger and utility vehicles to drive one of the world’s largest sporting events, watched on television daily by 500 million people in 183 countries.

Club Car, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of small-wheel, zero emissions electric vehicles, also provides more than 70 vehicles for each European Tour event, used by rules officials, television productions teams and staging staff.

“The Ryder Cup is a huge logistical operation involving hundreds of vehicles,” added Kevin Hart. “However, Club Car is experienced at servicing sporting events, courses and golf clubs of all sizes and we are proud to help drive the on-course logistics of The Ryder Cup.”

“Club Car looks forward to 2014 and what we believe will be the biggest and best Ryder Cup ever.”
