Bushnell gives DMDs a jolt

The evolution of the distance measuring device sector is continuing at pace with Bushnell’s introduction of its latest laser rangefinder, the Tour v3.

The key advance in the Tour v3 is Bushnell’s JOLT technology, which provides short, vibrating bursts while the Tour v3’s PinSeeker technology is calculating yardage to the pin, to reinforce to the golfer that the Tour v3 is locked onto the correct target. With other laser rangefinders – without JOLT technology – there can sometimes be a doubt as to whether it is picking up the correct target for distance measurement, but Bushnell claims JOLT will eliminate any doubt.

The Tour V3 also comes with a new ergonomic design for comfort in the golfer’s hand, and the unit is well protected against the elements with weatherproof construction. The lens magnifies the target by five times and Bushnell states it will provide yardages to points up to 1,000 yards away, with accuracy to within a single yard. The Tour v3 comes with an RRP of £279 and a two-year warranty, and it is legal for use in competition, while the Tour v3 Slope Edition has a £299 RRP, but is not legal is all competitions. The Slope Technology provides compensated distance measurements for elevation changes, and both Tour v3 editions come with a premium carry case and a three-volt battery.
