Burhill hosts Senior Open qualifying

Burhill Golf Club has been selected to be a qualifying venue for the 2015 Senior Open Championship presented by Rolex on 20 July. The Surrey-based club, which is the flagship venue and headquarters for BGL Golf, is to be one of four venues used for qualifying, which is expected to attract 400 players, competing for a place in the main tournament from 23 to 26 July.

Burhill has two 18-hole courses laid out in the Surrey heathland and will host the qualifying stage on its New Course, which is nearly 7,000 yards long and has hosted an annual PGA EuroPro Tour event since 2007. The announcement follows news that Burhill Golf Club will also host a Regional Qualifying Stage of The 2016 Open Championship.

Andy Stubbs, Managing Director of the European Senior Tour, said on behalf of the Championship: “Burhill is a superb course and we look forward to working with all four venues in the build up to The 2015 Senior Open Championship.” More at: www.burhillgolf-club.co.uk
