Alcanada tops Golfboo rankings in Balearics

Club de Golf Alcanada, in Mallorca, is the most highly-rated course in the Balearic Islands, according to Golfboo, the golf travel search engine. The classification system developed by Golfboo establishes a ranking by region, based on all the scores obtained by different courses in various publications. This takes into account factors such as the state of the course, bunkers, greens, all the facilities or other services such as customer service, price/quality ratio, and the total number of reviews received by users. Alcanada’s score of 8.5 out of 10 topped the Balearics’ list.

Alcanada’s 18-hole course opened in October 2003 and lies adjacent to the Mediterranean, the only course next the sea on the island. The 6,499m course takes its name from an island with a lighthouse, situated just offshore, which can be seen from most of the holes. The club also has a centuries-old Mallorca clubhouse, a golf academy including a spacious short game area and covered driving range.

Kristoff Both, director of golf at Club de Golf Alcanada said, “”It is always a pleasure to be informed we have won an award or are top of a course ranking, particularly when those voting are golfers who’ve actually played the courses rather than people sat behind computer monitors looking at pictures on websites or those which are driven purely by commercial interest. We will continue to strive to maintain our position as Golfboo’s number one in the Balearic Islands, but I will be looking to improve on our current score in the years ahead.”
