A Welcombe choice for On Course Foundation

On Course Foundation has been chosen as the charity beneficiary of the 2015 Welcombe Golf Club Pro-Am tournament in Stratford upon Avon. Teams of three amateurs will be partnered with a professional golfer to compete in the main championship and there are a number of spot competitions across the day. Opportunities are still available to sponsor holes and contribute auction prizes, all proceeds of which will go towards On Course Foundation.

On Course Foundation launched in 2010 and has already helped hundreds of wounded, injured and sick Service personnel and veterans across the country. The charity uses golf skills as a means to aid physical and mental rehabilitation and also creates work experience and employment opportunities for its members within the golf industry.

This announcement is a further step in the developing relationship between the Welcombe and On Course Foundation as OCF Managing Director Steve Holt explained, “The Welcombe showed enormous generosity to the Foundation when they hosted the recent launch of our Ambassador Initiative. They contributed a huge amount to the success of that day and I’m overwhelmed by their continuing contribution to the recovery of wounded, injured and sick Service personnel.”

Dan Hacker, Director of Golf at the Welcombe commented, “I’m delighted to have On Course Foundation as our beneficiaries. There will be a number of fundraising aspects to the day and we will also have some of the beneficiaries of the Foundation playing in the tournament and sharing their experiences. Having met a number of the members at the Ambassador launch I know that anyone attending can’t help but be inspired and I hope to raise a good sum for the charity.” More at: www.oncoursefoundation.com
