KBS launches new graphite hybrid shaft

KBS, the fastest-growing steel shaft golf brand that built its reputation on precision iron shafts, is adding a graphite hybrid shaft to its 2017 range to offer golfers a seamless transition from irons to fairway woods.

The KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid shaft has already been adopted by players on the PGA and European Tours, including multiple major winners and every leading club manufacturer since testing began earlier this year.

“Unlike other graphite hybrid shafts on the market, the new shaft design is based on the specification of a long iron, offering a more solid hit through impact and a consistent tighter dispersion,” said Kim Braly, R&D and Tour operations director. “We’ve also created the Tour Graphite Hybrid shaft to provide the feel of a premium KBS Tour steel iron, but in a graphite version,” he added.

Designed around the bend profile of the pioneering KBS Tour shaft, the Tour Graphite Hybrid shaft offers mid-to-high trajectory and stability throughout the entire shaft. Available in four weights, each with various flex options – 65grams (R & S flex), 75grams (R & S flex), 85grams (R, R+, S, S+ & X flex) and 95grams (Tour only at R, R+, S, S+ & X flex) with a .370 parallel tip diameter.

Paul Steels, the brand’s European Tour representative, believes the shaft will be a regular on Tour soon: “From the first day I had it on the range the feedback has been incredible and the players have seen instant success. These elite Tour players prefer hitting long irons, so when you can have that feel on a club that goes higher and with more control, they’re going to put it in the bag straight away.”

Custom fitting of the KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid shaft is available now at selected dealers for an RRP starting at £140. More details can be found at: www.kbsgolfshafts.com
