Quiet Sunice Langford jacket gets full marks from the pros

Seven of our readers put the Sunice Langford waterproof jacket to the test and were very impressed with two rating it ten out of ten!

Andrew Coleman, pro Millbrook Golf Club

This is a great new feeling jacket. I particularly like the comfort and flexibility it offers during a full swing. This jacket also gives excellent warmth, very different from others I have tried. The small in pocket towel makes a great addition accessory to an overall great jacket. In recent heavy rain it repelled water very easily. Highly recommended.

Andy Rossington, Lees Hall Golf Club

I received a medium Langford jacket which is the normal size I would take in a waterproof garment. I found the sizing to be slightly generous. The garment had great features with pull cords to take the jacket in and my personal favourite was the elasticated cuffs that gave a very snug fit around the wrist area.

I found the jacket to be very warm indeed and it is definitely the quietest jacket I have ever worn to play in. It is very flexible and moves with you during the swing so you never feel restricted at all.

I find the jacket very good value for money in comparison to others on the market and feel with more exposure this could become a very popular brand.

Chris Holt, Poulton le Flyde Golf Club

I love how soft the jacket feels and how quiet the jacket is when you are swinging, brilliant that it still manages to be waterproof and extremely lightweight.

Living in north Lancashire I’ve had a chance to wear the jacket in a range of conditions and it has performed every single time. Water seems to bead off the surface, the high performance Flexvent material most certainly does as it is supposed to. Waterproof zips and adjustable cuffs do the job perfectly. The in-pocket ball cleaner is a great idea, a small towel inside a pocket, very nice touch by Sunice.

Overall out of ten I would have to give it ten, I cannot fault the jacket at all. Love it.

Simon Stevenson, PGA Fellow Professional, Director of Golf, Taunton Golf Club

This Sunice waterproof jacket is one of the best I’ve used. It is so much quieter and more flexible than others but keeps out the rain just as well. The styling and fit of the garment is excellent with the additional touches of the double cuffs and mini microfibre towel in the pocket showing Sunice’s attention to detail. I like the way that Sunice reinforce every collar with their logo ensuring it stands up to reduce water running down your neck.

The garment feels like a softshell but a 20,000MM waterproof rating and 20,000MVT breathable rating takes it into another league. The retail price point for a garment of this quality is very attractive and the features and benefits are endless.

James Cunliffe, PGA Professional, Sedlescombe Golf Club

With a slightly larger fit than I was expecting my spirits were jollied by the extra room the large jacket gave me, but with a pull of a few very well designed toggles, akin to that of a ski jacket, I was soon cocooned in a very warm and comfortable jacket. The Flexvent fabric is very, very well made. This jacket is super quiet, no rustle just a lovely fit, in swing and out it’s just the ticket.

It basically does what it says on the tin. It’s brilliantly waterproof, very warm, flexible and adjustable perfect for my increasingly difficult to contain midriff. It’s a product I would happily recommend and stock. The rustle of fabric in my golf swing is no more, cometh the age of quiet comfort.

Chris Chamberlain, Hawkstone Park Golf Shop

I have been very impressed with the Sunice Langford Jacket! The Flexvent fabric has more of the feel of a softshell than of a waterproof with no restriction of movement, with a good stretch and a much greater warmth than many competitors’ similar models. The cuff has a fitted second layer which is a nice feature for added heat retention!

It is also incredibly quiet without the hint of a paper bag type rustle that most jackets seem to produce from even the smallest movement. The fit and cut seem trim with no excess fabric getting in the way yet not so fitted as to cut off circulation!

At £200 RRP it is a

relatively top end jacket, when compared to competitors similar products. It is still good value for money purely for the fact it feels like a fabric much more suited to playing golf in than so many others in the market.

    Rich Williams, Oakmeadow Golf Club

The Sunice Langford is a great wind-stopper as well as fully waterproof. The fit is perfect and the jacket features fully adjustable wrist straps and just short of the cuff an integral wrist cuff finishes the design off nicely. The Sunice is extremely flexible and very quiet when swinging and the stretchy material never rode up at all making it very comfortable and warm in the chilly southwest of England by the coast!

To sum up I would give the Sunice tornado 10/10 for all its features. The modern styling should appeal to all and the price point is very competitive in this busy market. All zips are storm welded and in the time I’ve worn it not one drop of water has got through to my clothes beneath!
